Lil Wayne - Swag Surfin’
Stunt hard on these bitches I ain’t promised tomorrow/Not when they kickin’ it with me like Nomar Garciaparra
For some reason, I think it’s cool when Weezy name drops athletes in his raps.
Lil Wayne - Army Gunz
Looks like Lil Wayne will most likely be put in the slammer for a year or so after pleading guilty to gun charges today. It’s refreshing to know he wasn’t talking all that B.S. when claiming “gotta gun, never come without one” and that he’s got “thirty shots in the clip” and he’s ready to trip.
What’s up with gun laws anyway? I mean, it’s nearly impossible to bust off a solid round here in Chicago. I’m thinking about moving to Wisconsin where the only gun law is that there is no gun law. Or something like that.
Dr. Dre - Let Me Ride
On a whim tonight, I decided to cook ribs for dinner. Turns out that cooking ribs properly takes a couple of hours. Looks like I have some time to kill. Ribs remind me of the summer months, summer months remind me of The Chronic. Thus we arrive at the video for Let Me Ride. It’d be pretty sweet to have a day like Dr. Dre has in this video, right?
Clipse - Intro
The hip-hop releases that we’ve been looking forward to in 2009 have so far disappointed. Clipse should be coming out soon. ”Intro” is the (duh) intro song to the mixtape Road To Till the Casket Drops.
The honesty and confidence in Malice and Pusha T’s raps have always been something I appreciate about them; they are supremely underrated. I think their upcoming album is the last hope for a truly great hip-hop album from 2009. No pressure though, brosephs.
More Clipse to come.
Rob Roy - Duval
I dig this. Some may remember me coming home on the late night and blasting this song to the fullest.
Related: The video and beat for Fur In My Cap must be among the best in the past year or so. Ethan Lader made the video, he’s put together some pretty cool shit.
UGK feat. Outkast - Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)
Welcome to Jamville.
Cam’ron feat. Juelz Santana - Oh Boy
This the jam. On another note, Cam has to be one of the most vulgar rappers ever, not necessarily in this song, just in general.
Jay-Z feat. Kanye West - Hate
This is the best song on BP3. The cadence from these dudes is so crucial.
To be honest, this is what I want from the rap game. More of this.
I’d love to hear some Weezy on the end of this track. Oooohhhh weeeeee.
