The-Dream feat. Lil John - Let Me See The Booty
This will go down as one of my favorite jams of 2009, as will this album. Radio killa.
Jim Jones - Dipset X-Mas Time
I picture a bunch of white guys drinking egg nog in turtle neck sweaters and dancing around in an Urban Outfitters-decorated apartment.
Music’s tight
My pockets stuffed
We here tonight
And that’s whassuuup
Livin fast and ballin’ at Christmas time
This is my favorite Christmas song ever.
A Dipset X-Mas is gift wrapped for you here.
Rick Ross - Push It
SYSKA posted “Hustlin’” yesterday. This song from Port of Miami is also the jam. The sample is from Paul Engemann’s “Scarface (Push It to the Limit).”
Boss boss boboss boboss boss boss.
Blakroc with Jim Jones and Mos Def - Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)
Jim Jones is cool.
50 Cent - Then Days Went By
Fif’s new album, Before I Self Destruct, really isn’t all that bad. I mostly say that because if I say otherwise I’m afraid he’d read my blog, track me down and take my girl to Gucci to buy her furs and leathers. Seriously though, it is a pretty good album that’s on par with Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
It’s pretty easy to like 50 Cent, especially if you watch too many of his interviews. Like the one with Funkmaster Flex where he explains his beef with nearly everyone on the planet, why he put Kelly Rowland on a song and his relationship with Vivica. Or the one with Howard Stern where he briefly explains why he doesn’t like YouTube and goes with VEVO instead. Or the appearance on Jimmy Fallon where he talks about banking $400MM when Vitamin Water was sold to Coca-Cola. ”Kids don’t want water or vitamins. I’m just so cool that it worked,” he says.
The best thing I’ve read about him lately is that he wants to put Susan Boyle on a song and take her clubbing. Part of me thinks he’s joking about that, but the other 90% of me is pretty sure he’s serious. Why? Because 50 is the best self-promoter on the planet and he is all about making that money.
Also, did you know that Eminem is the best-selling artist of this decade?
Donnis feat. Bun B - Country Cool
If you haven’t already, download Donnis’ Diary of an ATL Brave here. It goes hard.
Land of Talk - Some Are Lakes
Yes, I believe I will hit up the Land of Talk show next weekend.
