This guy must be the most cordial bank robber ever. Chances are nine out of ten that he politely asked for a lollipop on his way out. There is a tumblr and book dedicated to bank robbery notes. All the tough gangster talk in these notes kind of cracks me up (no funny money, no one gets hurt, no sudden moves, start with the big bills, hurry it up, business as usual, etc.).

Although, I must say that I’m a bit disappointed there wasn’t a note with a “Show me the money!” quote next to a picture of Rod Tidwell. Is a little creativity too much to ask for, Mr. Bank Robber?

However, it has also released far too many controllers that are more gimmicky than revolutionary. Prior to the invention of Guitar Hero, the company most responsible for piles of unused plastic toys in grown people’s apartments was Nintendo, who sold its first game system with a toy robot, turned the modest videogame light gun into a massive bazooka, crafted barrel-shaped bongo drums and most recently has sold eighteen million cheap plastic toy steering wheels.

Ironically, the company that can’t stop radically changing its own controllers is responsible for the standardization of the “traditional” videogame controller. An Xbox 360 pad is just a mashup of a bunch of different Nintendo ideas: It’s an NES pad with the Super Nintendo’s button layout, the Nintendo 64’s thumbstick, the Wavebird’s RF wireless signal, and… the Dreamcast’s triggers.

R.O.B. has to go down as one of the most obscene gaming accessories ever. Either that or the Power Glove.

I used to rep this show pretty hard. One episode that really sticks out is when Kevin was running for Student Council President (The Candidate - Episode 56). Kevin went home and asked his older brother, Wayne, if he had any good ideas for a campaign slogan. Wayne delivered to the fullest and came up with a slogan that was nothing short of genius, “Vote for a Scrote”.

At about the same time, I was running for fourth grade class president, “Vote for a Scrote” became the slogan we used behind closed doors to mock the other party. I ran a pretty tough campaign.

Quick FYI: Fred Savage has directed many episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and has been known to post on a message-board about Phish under the name of JoeBuck. Jason Hervey produced and wrote some pretty quality reality television. Josh Saviano, who was once rumored to be Marilyn Manson (I believed that for a long time), is now a lawyer in New York. Danica McKellar is all grownsies upsies.

In a recent article at Slate about Arby’s, Daniel Gross says:

The chain lacks the killer non-meat app—McDonald’s french fries, Burger King’s milkshakes—that bolsters margins and ropes in non-carnivores. Perhaps most significantly, the meat of the business isn’t particularly good. A few bites of a roast beef sandwich slathered with goopy cheddar sauce, and I was done. On the food chain, the thinly sliced beef is about as far from Boar’s Head deli meat as Boar’s Head oven-roasted ham is from the vaunted jamón Iberico.

I couldn’t disagree more with anything he says up there. Has he ever had the curly fries? How about the chicken, bacon and swiss? Maybe the Big Montana? Arby’s Sauce? Just read the sign, bro, Arby’s roast beef sandwich is delicious. Jesus. I’m shaking my head in disgust right now. If you’re going to read the article, just pretend it’s Opposite Day.
